Nashville, Tennessee – October 5, 2014 – Country music recording artist and Dutch CMA Award winner Mark Blomsteel has released his second album last week. The ‘Crank It” album has been two years in the making and Mark is overjoyed with it’s release. “I’m very excited, it’s finally here! I’m beyond excited for y’all to hear it!” says the Dutchmen who now lives in the States with his wife and two young children.
The 12 song album was recorded at Nashville’s oldest truly independent studio, the legendary Treasure Isle. Known as the studio ‘home’ of producer Michael Knox and CMA/ACM award winner Jason Aldean, who has recorded all of his albums here. But the studio has seen many other big name artists come through its doors to record. Artists like Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban have all recorded at this studio since it opened in 1980. Fred Vail, former manager of The Beach Boys and co-founded of Treasure Isle studios, has mentored Mark and produced both his debut and current album. About Mark he says: “His work ethic is second to none. I’m convinced we have a solid debut album–with a half a dozen, or more, obvious singles. The rest is up to radio and records but I truly believe that the ‘International’ component Mark brings to our industry will help set him aside from the others.”
During the late spring of 2013 our very own Marloes Lucy Duizer was able to visit the studio while Mark was recording the vocals for two of the songs; “Love Awaits” and “She’s So Mean”. The latter might sound familiar as it was the lead single for Matchbox Twenty’s fourth studio album “North” back in June 2012. Other familiar song titles are “Barbed Wire” which is a re-release from his debut album and “Someone Somewhere Tonight”, a song written by Walt Wilkins and Davis Raines and recorded by Kenny Rogers and more recently Kellie Pickler.
While visiting, Mark and Marloes had two photography sessions both inside and outside the studio. Some of the photographs taken, including the cover of his current single “Different Just The Same”, were used in the album’s booklet. The single has been send out to radio stations and is being played all over the world so make sure to call your local radio station to request the song.
